STINE INGEBRIGTSVOLD

Stine is part of Team VOFFii as the subject matter expert for the videos. She is a trained dog trainer and instructor, and has been hired by organizations like the Norwegian Kennel Club, GoodDog, and Oslo Hundeskole. She actively works with Rally and Footwork, representing Norway on the national team and in Nordic competitions. She has been the Norwegian champion multiple times. Stine works daily with dogs in many different ways – so we are very proud to have her on the team.

VOFFii – Go backward (Trick) Explanation for the video above.

Goes backward on command.

Method:

  1. Start with the dog in front of you, standing. A wall on one side can help the dog stay straight.

  2. Take a step towards the dog, using body language to push the dog backward. As soon as the dog takes a step backward, reward the movement.

  3. Try to build on this by walking toward the dog and having it back up. Add the command for the movement, e.g., “Backwards.”

  4. When the dog understands what we want and reacts by backing up on command, we can remove the help of walking toward the dog by simply leaning forward when giving the command. Reward when the dog backs up.

  5. This should be continued until we can stand still, and the dog will respond only to the command.

What you need:

A wall and treats.
